Pete R Ruiz

Our beloved Pete Ruiz of Austin, TX has gained his wings at the astonishing age of 89 in the early morning on Saturday November 1, 2025. A long and accomplished life Pete led, and is survived by his children Esmeralda Morris, Arthur Ruiz, Lavinia Ruiz-Cano (Joe), and Sam Davila.

He has joined his wife Herlinda Ruiz, and mother Clara Ruiz in heaven, and next month would have been his 90th birthday and his 70th wedding anniversary. Pete’s world was complete with his grandchildren, and even more with his great grands. His life was long, and his everlasting footprint he left will have a forever dent in those paths he crossed. A loyal family man, a long time employee to Austin Meat and Travis County, his name holds such high respect to those local to the area.

Pete was loved beyond measures also by his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was kind, helpful, and always stayed busy with his lawn services after retirement and anything Linda needed done. His grandchildren admired him, and he always made magic happen when a request of almost anything was requested. He spoke great advice, and left a high standard for his family.

Please remember Pete in great spirits, his body has been put to rest, but his spirit remains within the lucky ones..

A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, located at 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752, on November 9, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

A Rosary will follow at the same location from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702, on November 10, 2025, at 10:00 am

The committal service will be held at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704, on November 10, 2025, following the Funeral Mass
