Phyllis Davidson

Phyllis Davidson passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 due to complications from a fall. She was surrounded by three generations of loving family members when she passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven.

Mom was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 19, 1933 to Raymond and Lucretia Benjamin. She grew up in Arizona and New Mexico and attended the Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio. While standing in the registration line for the University of New Mexico, she met the love of her life Dan Davidson. After marrying, they moved to Germany where Dad was stationed in the Army. Then they moved to Lubbock where Dad graduated from Texas Tech University. They lived in San Antonio Texas, St. Petersburg Florida and finally calling Austin, Texas home in 1969.

Mom was a fantastic wife, mother, and friend to all. She never met a stranger and had a quick wit, contagious smile and great sense of humor. She volunteered for the Settlement Club and Seton Hospital for many years. She and Dad were founding members of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dan and leaves behind her son Mike Davidson, daughter Dana Rocco and husband Mickey, son Doug Davidson and wife Debbie, son Jeff Davidson and wife Connie, and son Matt Davidson. She also leaves behind the following grandchildren; Anthony, Angela, and Nicholas Rocco; Blake Davidson and wife Tristan; Amy Gouldie and husband Adam; Michelle Womack and husband Sean and Scott Davidson. She is also survived by great granddaughter Skylar Gouldie.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff and care givers at Brookdale Senior Living Northwest for their excellent care and friendship they gave to mom for the past 5 ½ years.

Visitation will be held Monday May 30th 6-8:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Memorial service will be held at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, 7050 Village Center Drive, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31st officiated by Bill Henderson and Audrey Spencer.
