Priscilla Gray Wilson passed away July 4, 2003 at home as she wished to do. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard L. Wilson, in 1999. She is survived by her four children and their families: Meg Wilson and husband Fred Chriswell of Austin; Rick Wilson, wife Joyce Wilson and their children Lisa, Michael and David in Flint Michigan; Howard Wilson Jr. in Andover NH, and Harold Wilson in Denver, Co; and her nieces Becky Holmes Byrum and Robin Holmes Brownstein and cousins in far corners of the former British empire. Priscilla had a long life that started in Simla, India in 1919 and took her to Brussels for 10 years in 1965, Rio de Janeiro for 3 years in 1975 and travel around the world. Raised in Long Island, New York, she attended Duke University and then worked for Esso Chemical Company as a research chemist, where she met the handsome plastics engineer, Howard Wilson. They started their life together in Islin New Jersey and soon moved to Arcola, Illinois for 9 years. Luck then took them on a wonderful move to Brussels and Rio. Howard and Priscilla retired to Austin Texas in 1979. They spent wonderful retirement summers in Galveston and Rangeley Maine and traveling North America. Priscilla was active in the Womans Club of Arcola and Brussels. In Austin she actively supported the Womens Political Caucus, Planned Parenthood, Meals on Wheels and a wide variety of other community, environmental and political organizations. She was a lifelong avid reader, packrat, and amazing mother who could remember the smallest comment and turn it into a wonderful birthday or Christmas surprise. We will miss her smile; her fussy, perfectionist ways; her night owl tendencies; her social criticism; the magazine clippings cut just for us; her transformation into a gourmet cook in Europe; her horrendous French and Portuguese accents; her left-over Briticisms (and ours, dear Mummy); her love of camping and hiking; her last decade position as princess-and-the-pea; and her eternal practicality in all things organizational! We will miss you. Have a great time with Daddy now. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78705 452-8811. You may view memorials at www.wcfish.com
