She was the 12th of 13 children of the Jones family. Ramah attended St. Agnes Academy and graduated in 1954. As a young adult, she committed her life to the love and service of others through the Catholic religious order of Dominican Sisters. During her years of service within the order, she completed her college degree and then her masters at Loyola University in Chicago. Ramah left the order in 1968 and was living in Austin, Texas at the time. In 1970 she married Frank Briganti, a clinical psychologist who continues his private practice today. Frank and Ramah moved into a home in South Austin in 1973 where they remained and raised their only son Matthew who was born in 1976.
Ramah taught elementary school for almost 40 years in the Austin area and was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Ramah was very special to people. She was a shining light with a warm presence. Gentle, yet strong. Intelligent yet with a great sense of humor. To be with her or around her would make you feel loved and in a loving presence.
Ramah is preceded in death by her parents and siblings – Jack, Jane, Don, Ann, Margaret, Rachel, Mary, Scrapps Jr., Richard, Louis and Lucina. Ramah is survived by her husband Frank, son Matthew and wife Ladina of Austin, brother Robert and wife Betty of Houston and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
