Raphael Vincent Ford

Raphael Vincent Ford, Sr. R. Vincent Ford, Sr. passed away peacefully on October 23, 2003. Vince was born to Fredrick and Edith Ford in Janesville, Wisconsin on October 6, 1921. He served as a Lt. in the U.S. Air Force, flying B-29 missions in the Pacific Arena, after which, he had a long career with the Johnson Wax Co. With his wife Ann of 60 years, Vince retired to Lakeway, Texas where they have resided for the past 25 years. Vince was an active member of the Emmaus Catholic Church, and participated in the civic activities of Lakeway. He was an avid golfer and always loved being outdoors. Most prominently, Vince was a man devoted to his family. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Murray. He is survived by his wife, Ann, a resident of Lakeway, TX; daughters Bunnie Lester and husband Tom of Ft. Smith, AR; Cathie Witt and husband Steve Witt of Lakeway, TX; and son Vincent Ford, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren: Carey Ford, Ryan Ford, Conrad Hammond, Bekki Gibson George, Brandi Gibson Sinclair, Al Gibson, Tom Lester, Jr., Todd Lester, Patrick Lester and eleven great-grandchildren. Vince also leaves behind his brother Fritz Ford and wife Helen, of Packwaukee, WI; sister Claire Adele Damrow and husband Jack, Janesville, WI; and Rosemary Heise and husband Charles, of Spring Hills, Fl; and 29 nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, 10AM October 31, 2003, at Emmaus Catholic Church, Lakeway, TX. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohman’s Crossing, Lakeway, TX 78734.
