He is preceded in death by his wife, Anita, parents, Bernaver and Rosa, brothers, Antonio and Manuel, and his sister, Amalia Kay (Amy). He is survived by his stepchildren, Laura Ann Gonzales, Jimmy Gonzales, Julian Gonzales, and Joel Gonzales; his brothers, Inez Gusman and Alfredo Gusman; and his sister, Maria Teresa Vidalis. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 and was a Korean War veteran.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin. A Funeral Mass will be held at San Jose Catholic Church ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.
