

Raymond Allison Bonnet, Sr. went home to be with our Lord in heaven early in the morning on Thursday, June 28, 2012. He passed away in Austin, TX at a local hospital after a courageous battle from amiodarone toxicity and the many complications that followed the illness. Raymond was born in Leander, TX on January 23, 1945 to the late Felix and Blanch Bonnet. He lived most of his life in central Austin where he met and married his lovely wife of 49 years, Fannie LaVerne (Stark). Everyone who knew Raymond will always remember the love and joy he brought into their lives. He was never afraid of honest, hard work and loved to tinker with cars, as well as hunt and fish. He retired from his longtime career with Texas Electric Coop in 1997. Raymond will be remembered in many ways by the ones who knew him but most of all for his love and devotion to his family, his exceptional work ethic, and his refreshing sense of humor and all the funny stories he told.
Raymond is survived, and his memory will be lovingly cherished by his wife, Fannie and children: Raymond Bonnet Jr, Tina Daniel and her husband Edward, Randy Bonnet, Rachel Mansell and her husband Robert. Grandchildren: Jonathan Daniel, Matthew Daniel, Zachary Daniel, Alison Rojas and her husband Marcos, Gary Reese Jr., Allison Bonnet, Emily Bonnet, Christina Bonnet, and Augustus Bonnet. Great-grandchild: Nickolas Rojas. Siblings: Lucille Proffitt and her husband Dale, Mildred Hammack, Loyad Bonnet and his wife Jean, Ester Strange, James Bonnet and his wife Martha, Dorothy Burlin, Jerry Bonnet and his wife Sandra. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by siblings: Bonnie, Vernon, and Ray Benton Bonnet.
A visitation will be conducted from three o’clock to five o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 4th of July, 2012 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. The funeral service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 5th of July, 2012 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church at 12062 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
