Regina Denise de la Isla, of Austin, TX, transitioned into eternal life on October 28th 2020, after her courageous battle with Colon Cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and all the things she loved in the comfort of her home. She is survived by her parents, George and Minnie de la Isla; sisters, Angela de la Isla-Herrera and Brianna de la Isla Brandt; brother-in-laws, Kelly Brandt and Hector Herrera, niece Presley Brandt; nephews Tony de la Isla, Vincent Brandt, and Julian Herrera; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Regina also known as “Gina” was born in Houston, TX August 20,1972. She was a child who grew up with disabilities but that never inhibited her ability to be a fun loving member to her family. Gina and her parents spent 17 years living in Fullerton, California. Gina learned to thrive as a young child by attending Happy Days Camp. She participated in the Special Olympics in the early 80’s running track. She was an avid bowler with Fullerton ISD, and received a plaque for having the “Highest Average”. Gina graduated in 1994 from the Jerry Mac Clifton Center located in Austin,Texas where she spent the rest of her years. Gina enjoyed life’s simplistic pleasures like 80’s pop culture with movies, music, drawing and coloring in books, clipping coupons, wrapping random cassette tape with newspaper, and thumbing through bridal magazines.
She loved watching the cooking channel and helping in the kitchen wherever she was. Gina only knew Love, Family, and Food. She was a pillar to her family and a joy to those who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jose and Virginia de la Isla, Oswald and Rosario Guerrero; uncles, Jose Alfredo Guerrero, Jose de la Isla ll, and John Guerrero; aunt, Santa Elizabeth Montelongo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Austin for the amazing care, dignity and respect their staff bestowed to their daughter.
