Rena Maye Robinson

Rena was born on March 11, 1927 in Manchaca, TX to parents Robert Lee Basey and Nina Katherine Jackson. She was the oldest girl of 17 siblings. She was married to Bertram Stanley Robinson in May 1943. They had four children. Bertram proceeded her in death in 1988.

A lifelong resident of Austin, she worked at Kenny Avenue Baptist Church for over 40 years taking care of babies. She was a member of South Austin Baptist Church for many years. Her hobbies were sewing and helping others.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, many siblings, and her son Robbie. She is survived by her sisters, Martha Potts of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Barbara Burchfield of Tutwiler, Mississippi, daughters; Katherine Bertram of Pflugerville, Lynda Brown of Austin, and Marie Robinson of Austin. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

The family will receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2025 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Immediately following the visitation. The gravesite service will be at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Brad Courtney will officiate.
