Dick is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Chase, four children and three grandchildren: R. Thomas Chase and wife, Diana, of Front Royal, Virginia, and granddaughter, Wendy, of Maryland; James Chase and wife, Susan, and granddaughter, Lily, of Columbus, Ohio; Robert Chase and wife, Cheri, and granddaughter, Kirby, of Austin, Texas; and Crystal Bachant and husband, Jamie, of Elizabeth, Colorado.
Dick retired from the U.S. Army as a Major. Additionally, he was a retired engineer with the Potomac Electric Power Co. in Washington, DC. Dick was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America with over 45 years of service. Furthermore, he enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Dick loved to tinker in his workshop. He could fix just about anything, always willing to lend a helping hand to others. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
