He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katherine Lentz Miller. They were married in San Antonio, Texas on Jan 12, 1957. Dr. Perry F. Webb performed the wedding vows.
Mr. Miller graduated from Woodward High School in Woodward, Iowa. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. He started his college career in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
He also attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth. When he retired from the Air Force, he was accepted at the University of Texas where he received his degree in Accounting.
In later years he joined the Hill City Masonic Lodge where he was a member for 25 years. He also joined the Eastern Star Fidelis Chapter where he was a member and had the honor to serve alongside his wife as Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron.
Mr. Miller will have a Military, Masonic and Eastern Star Funeral. A graveside service for Richard will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. Mr. Miller chose the songs 'Face to Face with Christ my Savior’, ‘How Great Thou Art' and 'The Lord’s Prayer'.
Pallbearers are Paul Godinez, Tracy Lara, Greg Deidrick, Mike Ratliff, Dr. Frank Cherpack, and Christopher Davison.
