Richard “Rick” O’Connell was a caring father, grandfather, and friend. He left this world peacefully on August 1, 2022, at age 74, surrounded by family.
He was born to Russell and Gloria O’Connell on March 9, 1948, in Bay City, MI. After graduating from high school, Rick joined the navy, where he served for four years. After leaving the navy, he started working in the Semiconductor industry, which led him to Texas. Rick spent his career in management and inspired teams by improving processes in repairing and maintaining Semiconductor equipment. His creativity and problem-solving techniques for addressing complex issues were highly sought after in the chip testing community. Rick was awarded many accolades and patents during his thirty-year tenure with Motorola and was loved and adored by many.
Rick also loved learning about science, politics, and religion and was a devoted Cowboys fan. He is survived by his son, Kevin O’Connell, daughter, Heather Henderson, grandson, Zakary O’Connell, and granddaughters, Krista and Khloe Henderson.
