Dick was born in Glencoe, MN on March 12, 1944 to Cyril and Lorraine Perschau.
He was especially proud of the work ethic he developed working on his father’s ranch, of his service in the United States military, and of being an outstanding doctor. He loved his family, his country, travel and adventure, animals and gardening. And he really loved flying fast airplanes.

He entered the USAF on active duty in 1970 and was stationed in Clovis, NM, Ramstein, Germany, and San Antonio, TX as a flight surgeon and anesthesiologist. After leaving active duty, he continued to serve his country with F-4 and F-16 fighter squadrons, including the Kelly Air National Guard and the 704th Tactical Squadron at Bergstrom Air Force Base. He retired from the USAF as a Colonel.
Dick joined the private medical practice of Austin Anesthesiology Group and practiced there until his retirement from medicine.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Denton, of Dallas, TX and his four children, Melissa Perschau Tackett (Ross) of Nashville, TN, Erik Perschau (Renee) of Ft. Collins, CO, Ben Perschau (Courtney) of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Kate Perschau Wong (Adrian) of Houston, TX, and twelve grandchildren.
