He graduated from the University of Houston in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
For 43 years, he served as a pharmacist at Walgreen’s, touching the lives of both those he worked with and those he served. His dedication to helping others will be remembered by many.
He loved fishing, woodworking, outdoor life, spending time with his family and working on his small ranch in Goldthwaite, Texas. Rick's warm humor and ability to make others laugh will leave a legacy of joy and smiles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Maxine.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith; his son, David Smith, daughter-in-law, Stacy Smith, and granddaughter, Reilly Saucedo; his daughter, Lisa Simek, son-in-law, Gabe Reyes, and grandchildren, Reese and Will Simek, and Gabby Reyes; and his sisters, Karen Duncan and Valerie Fine Thompson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Beckett Meadows for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
