

Riley King was born in Marion, Indiana, November 5, 1927. He graduated from Upland High School in Indiana in 1944, then served with the United States Air Force for two years. Riley married Barbara Vaughn in 1950. He was employed as a Tool and Die maker with RCA for several years; in 1963 he was hired by IBM in Lexington, Kentucky.
Riley and Barbara relocated to Austin in 1967, when IBM opened their manufacturing plant in Austin. He held various postions at IBM, including Buyer, Manager of Security, and Facilities Engineer. Riley retired from IBM with 25 years of service, in 1987.
Riley is survived by his wife, Barbara. He is also survived by his son, Dennis King, his daughter in law, Marilyn King, and grandchildren Robert King and Jennifer LaPaglia. In addition, Riley is survived by his daughter, Pam Malone, son in law Mark Malone, and grandchildren Molly and Patrick. Riley is also survived by two great grandchildren, Maddison Simpson and Ryland LaPaglia.
Riley was an avid fisherman, golfer, bridge player and poker player. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, Austin, Texas at 10:00 am. There will be a light reception following services.
