Rita H. Dunn, age 86, of Austin passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2006. She was born in Oakley, Idaho on January 14, 1920 and was raised in Rupert, Idaho. Mrs. Dunn was a retired Registered Nurse. She was a graduate of the University of Washington. Rita was involved with AAUW, Retired Officers Association, and the Republican Womens Club, all in Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Dunn, 1996; her brother, Oliver C. Hanzel; and her parents E.J. Hanzel and Ann Zingg Hanzel. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Dunn of Union Lake, Michigan; four nieces, Mary Ann, Suzy, Sally, and Amy; and sister-in-law, Mary Hanzel. Graveside services will be held at 9:15 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on Friday, July 7, 2006. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
