Robert Lee Ball

Robert was born on September 19, 1928, in Merkel, Texas, to the late Joseph and Vera Ball, of Hobbs, New Mexico. The third eldest of 11 children, Robert is survived by eight of his siblings: Doris, Jaton, Tootsie, Logan, Alice, Nelda, Danny and Linda.

On April 21, 1948, Robert married Ozema Jean Stennett. Surviving are his five children and their families: Connie and husband Keith Koehler, Roberta and husband Glenn Carlyle, Vicki and husband Craig Holmes, Tami and husband Jimmy Martin, and Robert Michael. Mr. Ball is also survived by his grandchildren, Ty and wife Linda Schmitt, Kelly Koehler, Jason and wife Rebecca Carlyle, David Carlyle, Kye Martin, Carly Martin, and Samuel Holmes; and his eight great granddaughters: Maddy, Ella, and Skylar Schmitt; Ashton and Bryce Carlyle, and Adeline, Amelie, and Alaira Carlyle.

A long-time resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, Robert’s career in the oil industry spanned 30 years with Dowell, Inc., where he worked as a service sales engineer until 1978.

A memorial service for Robert will be held in the fall. Memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse Hospice, 1217 Ranch Road 2243, Georgetown, Texas.
