

Bob Garoutte, 77, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2013, surrounded and loved by family. He was born on April 27, 1936 to Ed and Ruby Garoutte, the youngest of seven children. Bob spent the majority of his professional life in Stratford, Texas or at Oxy Chemical in Deer Park, Texas. He was widely known as a man who could fix most anything and had an eye for creativity. He was a generous man, always first to volunteer to help others, and quick to make people laugh and feel comfortable.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Nola Cummings and Wanda Woolsey; two brothers, Bill Garoutte and Clifford Garoutte. Bob was greatly loved in this life and the family takes comfort and joy at the thought of his family reunion in heaven.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Rogene Seaman Garoutte; his son, Wayne Garoutte and wife Betty of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Len Wilson and fiancé, Norman Holmes of Huffman, Texas; and his daughter, Kara Thompson and husband Jack of Austin, Texas.
Bob's family and especially his grandkids were the pride of his life. Gran-Gran, as he was affectionately known has four grandchildren, Trent Wilson (girlfriend Taylor Hagan), Jessica Sumner (husband Bryan), Micah Garoutte and Taylor Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Hebert and Morgan Sumner. He is also survived by two sisters, who were very special to him, Sis Steinberger and Mary Lou Cotney both of Stratford, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral Service 1:00 pm Monday, June 10, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park.
