

At an early age Robert was baptized at the St. Johns College Heights Baptist Church under the pastorship of Pastor Michael D. Harvey. Robert attended Austin public schools and was a current student at Lyndon Baines Johnson High School.
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Lori Mathis and Robert McKinney Jr., both of Austin, TX; two brothers, Marcus Brown and Kristopher Mathis both of Austin, TX and one sister Kendriza Mathis of Austin, TX; both maternal grandparents, Anna Green (Sherman Jr.) of Austin, TX and Willard Mathis Sr. of Cuero, TX; both paternal grandparents, Robert McKinney Sr. and Phyllis Patton of Austin, TX; two uncles, Willard Mathis Jr. (Ambre) and Benjamin McKinney both of Austin, TX; two aunts, Sheila Green and Unique McKinney both of Austin, TX; a stepfather, Anthony Metcalf of Austin, TX; three great-grandfathers, Eddie McKinney and Andrew Cleveland both of Austin, TX and Jake Mathis of Shiner, TX; one great-grandmother, Betty Joe Mathis of Shiner, TX; one niece Mar’Kaja Brown and a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by three-great grandmothers, Anna Reed, Patricia McKinney and Mary Cleveland, and one great grandfather Everett Reed Sr.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 13th of February 2015, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 14th of February 2015, at the St. John Regular Baptist Association Tabernacle, 7501 Blessing Avenue, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
