 Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. 

Wanda and I got to know Bob and Susan over the last ten years. Whenever Bob would be in the area we would get together for lunch or dinner and would always end up discussing travel. Earlier this year Bob and I discussed he and Susan meeting us in Paris this fall. 
Bob's life was much too short but all our lives are richer for the time we were able to spend with him. Bob was a good friend and will be greatly missed. 

 When in Paris we will order a drink, have a toast to honor Bob, and think of Bob and Susan walking hand in hand along the streets of Paris, a city they loved.

Bob always took the time to help, a wonderful person to work with and firmly in command of all of the qualities that we individually wish for. For now and in the future, Bob is still with us and can only be helpful to each of us as we reach our individual goals. Bob is our friend and most of all a model of success.

I count myself blessed in many ways for having know and loved Bob for many years.  Having visited with him in his final hours I can attest to the dignity with which he exited this world was no less than the character and dignity with which he lived his life.

A truly remarkable friend, cohort and rock of a person, Bob will be truly missed by this friend of 30 +years.

Our deepest condolences to you Susan, your family and all of Bob's family and friends.  I haven't seen Bob in years but can't help to remember that he was always a lovely man, husband, father and friend.  I hope when you think of Bob and  all the wonderful times you shared, a big smile will come to your face and help heal the sadness.

I met Bob when he quoted a roofing project at our Irvine, CA facility. I liked Bob from the moment I met him, and Highland Roofing was awarded the business because of Bob's genuine personality. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It is sad to see such a kind truthful person pass away.  The world will be a sadder place without his presence.

Being in the roofing industry for 10 years or so, I had always "heard" of Bob Maiers.  Bob did that job or Bob covers that account or Bob lives near you.  Once I met Bob at Bluewater grill in Redondo Beach face to face, I knew why everyone talked about him.  They liked him.  He was very trusting and honest.  I will miss Bob very much.

TO THE FAMILY OF BOB MAIERS, OUR PRAYERS AND HEARTS GO OUT TO YOU AT THIS TIME. BOB WAS A GREAT PERSON AND A GREAT MENTOR TO ALL WHO HAD THE PRIVELAGE OF TALKING TO HIM. We were neighbors of Bob and Sue when they lived in Redondo Beach. Always a kind word and a smile on Bobs face. Although we only knew him a short while he will be missed in this neck of the woods, Hollywood Riviera. I remember both Bob and Sue going to a Rolling Stones concert, they were like a pair of teenagers, so young at heart of full of life

We have all lost a great man today. Bob was considered a family member and not just a friend. Bob and Frank had many years walking and talking together. Weekends and vacations were enjoyed together with Bob and Susan.  We spent years together as neighbors and time together when we both moved away. 
When Frank had his massive stroke 9 years ago, Bob was the first person to be at his side and he came from the other side of the country. Los Angeles to North Carolina to make sure his friend was okay. 
Bob bought Frank one of the first portable CD players (really expensive back then) to make sure that while Frank was out of focus during those first months in rehab that he could stay alert and focus in on movies rather than just be in a rehab facility. That really made a difference in Franks focus. Bob was like that. He always thought of others in their time of need.  Never once would Bob ever tell you he needed anything.  Bob was there when we needed a friend. 
We knew that Bob had been facing a difficult battle these last few years but no one would have realized that Bob would not make it. We never expected the news this last week.  Bob was strong and Bob was a survivor.  My heart has been breaking today as we all are feeling the loss. 
All I can say is that we have all lost a great friend.  ClichÃ©s would say he is in a better place but those of us that are left without him do not want to believe that.  We want our friend, husband, father, and grandfather here with us.  
Bob you are in a better place as I believe and your pain is over.  Our pain is not.  We love you buddy and we will look after your family as you looked after mine.  Rest in peace my friend!
