Robert Albert “Bob” Miller was united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his loved ones Sunday, June 22, 2025. Bob was born in Kerrville, Texas Jan. 27, 1934 to Charles Edward and Eva Meyer Miller, and was a 50-year resident of Austin after many years in San Antonio. Bob loved cars and had many memorable convertibles, collected watches and rode motorcycle trials avidly, only once going over the handlebars requiring pins in one arm.
Following graduation from Schreiner High School in Kerrville, where he played full back, Bob attended the University of Texas. He wanted to major in architecture but found advertising more to his liking after a lab where he and a partner built and eventually sunk a boat in Lake Austin. Bob returned to San Antonio after a stint in the Army testing unmanned aircrafts in the 1950s and began his long career in advertising and public relations. He worked many years at the San Antonio Express-News and then the San Antonio Light rising to Advertising Manager. While in San Antonio, he met and married Ina Marie Lincecum and became stepfather to her daughters, Janet (MacLean) and Sonja (Toni Casteel). In the mid-70s they moved to Austin where he continued his career in advertising, founding Robert Miller Advertising which won national awards for a Quizno’s Sub campaign.
Bob and Ina enjoyed some 50 years of marriage while becoming grandparents to Jan’s and Toni’s children, and loved travels to Santa Fe, Hawaii, and California. Bob lovingly cared for Ina in her final years before her passing in 2015.
After Ina's passing, Bob married his second wife, Mary Lou Bellinghausen. Bob and Mary Lou traveled widely in their RV, visiting national parks and her family in North Carolina. Bob cared for Mary Lou before her passing in December 2023.
Bob is survived by his stepdaughter, Toni Casteel, and grandchildren Dawn MacLean, Kerry MacLean (Sheila), Jamie MacLean (Jane), Kellye Russell (Greg), Andrew Casteel, and Corbin Casteel. He also leaves behind Mary Lou’s sons, Darryl and Tony. Many great-grandchildren remember him with love as does his church family at Promiseland Church.
Bob's Celebration of Life service will follow a viewing at Promiseland Church Chapel at 5401 East 51st Street on Friday June 27th. The viewing will begin at 10 am followed by services at 11 am. He will be buried in a private service beside Ina Marie at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery following his celebration of life services.
