Robert Edward Seale, age 85, of Austin, Texas, a devoted educator and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March, 10, 2025. He was born on November 18, 1939, in Kenilworth, New Jersey, to Alfred A. Seale and Dorothy Wickham Seale
Robert’s passion for learning led him to earn a bachelor’s degree from Newark State College in 1961, followed by a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1964. He later achieved a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Houston in 1984. Robert was rightfully very proud of his personal education.
After his early career as a young schoolteacher in the New York and New Jersey area, Robert moved to Texas, where he worked awhile for NASA. But after a short time, he ultimately landed at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. For 42 years, Robert dedicated his career at Lee College to teaching Mathematics and Engineering, and Personal Finance. Robert inspired countless students with his knowledge and enthusiasm teaching his subjects. And in those decades, the numerous friendships, relationships, and networks he nurtured with his Lee College Colleagues have followed him though his entire life, to this day.
It was at Lee College he met the love of his life, Rosemary. They married in 1971, and for the next 54 years carved out a life of adventure, world travel, parenting, teaching, and living the dream. They settled in Huffman, Texas, over 20 years, well after their kids finished school there. In this time Robert served as parent, sports coach, boy scout leader, school board member, and mentor to many to list just a few.
Robert taught college well into his 70's. As he retired, Bob and Rosemary turned their attention more to travelling the world over, exploring more continents, countries, cities, sights and experiences to possibly list. They were able to nurture and excel at their second career together. Together they learned and practiced real estate development and contracting, buying, improving, selling and building homes and subdivisions across the Houston, Bayton and surrounding areas, among others.
Preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Dorothy and his brothers, Alfred W. Seale and James R. Seale, Robert leaves behind a mass of family and lifelong friends, and colleagues.
He is survived by the wife he adored, Rosemary Floyd Seale, who lovingly cared for him in these end times. He leaves behind sons Robert James, and Terrill W. Jenkerson and his wife Marie. His five, absolutely cherished grandchildren are the youngest Abigail and Edward Jenkerson, David Banda, to Julianne Rose, her fiancée Keaton, and the oldest, Jeffrey Jenkerson and his wife Cathleen with their daughter Adelaide Rose, Robert and Rosemary's first great-grandchild.
Robert's numerous nieces and nephews from his older and younger brothers, remained an integral part of his life through all their years.
Roberts legacy of kindness, wisdom, and dedication to education will live on in the many lives he touched.
As we sadly say goodbye, Robert will be cremated, and his ashes will be interred in the Columbarium at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. The family has chosen to forgo a formal funeral or memorial, and to celebrate his life at a yet to be planned time.
We would ask that in lieu of flowers or similar remembrances, donations be made in Robert's memory to OAFA, Alzheimer's Foundation of America, https://alzfdn.org to provide support, services, and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's Disease, and related dementias and temporal variants, nationwide.
