Robert Daniel Wilson On Easter Sunday morning, Robert Daniel Wilson, age 9, went to live with the other angels. Robert was born January 14, 1996 in Austin, the son of Trisha ten Broeke and Layton Wilson, Jr. At age 2, Robert was diagnosed with MPS I, Hurler Syndrome. His devoted mother was dedicated to his care and was grateful for the doctors who were part of his life, especially Dr. Thomas Dawson and Dr. Drew Sawyer. Robert was also cared for by Suzanne Ross at the Brackenridge Trach Clinic. Although his life was short, Robert was a happy child, who loved Barney, the Simpsons, Wheel of Fortune, Elmo, McDonalds Happy Meals, and most of all, Winnie the Pooh. He will be mourned by his cat Madison and his dog Angus who will miss their boy. Roberts favorite place was the Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston, where he would race around to see every fish and pet the little sharks in the petting tank. Robert also enjoyed his days at River Oaks Elementary, where Sue Schnars was his kind and loving teacher. Robert was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ted ten Broeke. Besides his mother and father, he is survived by his Ann-Maw Pat ten Broeke, his adored Aunt Tanya ten Broeke, his grandparents Ann and Layton Wilson, Sr. and his uncles Ross and Marshall Wilson. He is also survived by his dear friend Sarah Sharp and by his great aunts, his great uncles, and by his cousins. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Robert loved all creatures, great and small. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor can be made to the Moody Gardens Hope Therapy Program, One Hope Blvd., Galveston, TX 77554 (Attention: Accounting Department) or to the Town Lake Animal Shelter, 1156 West Cesar Chavez St., Austin, TX 78703.
