

Rodney Jackson went to be with the Lord and Savior on December 9, 2014 in Austin, Texas. He was born in Dozier, Alabama in 1926 to George and Mary Jackson. He graduated from Dozier High School in 1944, followed by two years of service in the United States Navy during World War II. After an honorable discharge, he attended the University of Alabama where he graduated in 1951 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he began a career with IBM that spanned 36 years. His career began with four years in Paducah, Kentucky where he met and married his wife Pauline. They moved to Evansville, Indiana for two years, followed by eleven years in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1968, the family moved to Austin, Texas where he designed test equipment until he retired in 1987. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, raising cattle, reading and spending time with his family.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Pauline, of 58 years. He is also survived by his three children: a son, Allen Jackson; a son, Geoffery Jackson (sp. Marilyn); and a daughter, Paula Feuerbacher (sp. Brent). In addition to his children, Rodney is survived by two grandchildren: a grandson, Jackson Feuerbacher, and granddaughter, Kendyl Feuerbacher.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Jackson, his sister, Mary Lee Jackson and grandson, Cash Hunter Feuerbacher.
A visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 12th of December 2014, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A Chapel service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 13th of December 2014, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas, followed by a graveside service at Mahomet Cemetery, Bertram, Texas.
