
Roger grew up in Sterling, Alberta for the first 17 years of his life with his mother Ruth, grandmother (Mathilda Benedicta Pierson) and brother Thomas Raymond Fisher. Roger excelled in school and athletics at a young age which lead him to join the Royal Winnipeg ballet company where he performed for 8 years.
After dancing he attended BYU where he completed his bachelors in economics and went to the U of Berkley California to complete a PHd in economics. This is where he met his wife Clarice Pauline Duke (1937-2002) and were married April 27, 1968 in San Francisco, CA. Following their marriage Roger began working for Imperial Oil Canada as a pension fund manager in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he worked until his retirement.
Roger is survived by his two children – Thomas Michael Fisher (wife Candice Rene Gillespie, with grandchildren Rachel, Michael and Megan) and Kristopher Vance Fisher (wife Jennifer Siegert, with grandchildren Addison, Alex and Jake). Following the death of his wife Pauline, Roger moved to Cedar Park, Texas to live with his family.
Roger was heavily involved with his family and children, volunteering for all their sporting activities and attending all their sporting events. He was known as friendly person who was willing to help those in need and loved to give advice and tell stories of his youth. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout his life. He passed from this life April 16th 2022 peacefully in hospice care from conditions due to old age.
A graveside service for Roger will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas 78731.
