Roger was born in Bowling Green, Virginia on June 18th 1945 to Carlton Ray Gatewood and Myrtle Rae Gatewood. Roger attended Virginia Tech and was in ROTC. He was a retired, decorated Air force Veteran. After retirement he went on to work for the Great State of Texas for 10 years.
Roger loved playing golf and enjoyed watching sports and game shows on tv especially during Happy Hour with his good friend Melvin. He also enjoyed meeting and visiting friends at Well Med Senior Center.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Wynn Clapp. Roger is survived by his beautiful wife, JoAnn Gatewood; brother, Michael Gatewood.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at St. Pauline's Cemetery in Windsor, North Dakota.
