

He was born on August 5, 1934 in Toronto, Canada where he lived until 1975. He has since been a resident of Austin, Texas.
He is predeceased by his parents, Anna and William Carroll and his brothers, Deane and William.
He is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Elizabeth Galic, sons Douglas, Russell and James, and their mother Faye Carroll, grandchildren Elizabeth, Andrew and Matthew and their mother Mona Carroll.
Ron is a 1958 graduate of the University of Toronto in Industrial Engineering. He spent six years with IBM in Systems Engineering posts before a twelve year career in Canada, consulting to governments and industry with engagements related to information technology, operations research and strategic planning.
He led The Continuum Company as CEO and Chairman from 1975 to 1996 when Continuum became part of Computer Sciences Corp. During his leadership, Continuum became the worldwide leading provider of software and services to the insurance industry with offices in nine countries.
As a philanthropist, he supported many causes. His favorites were Seton Hospital, the Girl Scouts Scholarship Program and the lung transplant program at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He was very grateful to Drs. Peters, Sako and Levine at the center.
Ron will lie in state from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 3125 N. Lamar. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
