He was born August 17, 1947 to Francis Joseph Reynolds and Rosalyn Jones Reynolds in San Angelo, Texas. Ronny spent his childhood on the family ranch near Corona, New Mexico, a place that remained forever dear to him.
Ronny was a cadet at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico, where he graduated both High School & Junior College at the rank of First Lieutenant. NMMI instilled in Ronny a disciplined approach to life and introduced him to cadets from the United States as well as those from foreign countries. He later served his country for four years in the National Guard.
In 1970 he graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.B.A. in management and became a loyal Red Raider supporter. After graduation he started his State Farm Insurance career in Dallas, Texas. He was promoted to Field Underwriter and traveled West Texas and, as some know, "north Mexico" working with the Agency Force to help write Commercial business. As it turned out, coordinating efforts between Agency and Operations was Ronny's niche. Although Ronny spent his entire career in Operations, he was extremely well liked by the Agency Force. Because of his remarkable ability to see both points of view, he was promoted to Operations Superintendent, the position he held until his retirement, December 1, 2004.
Ronny lived every day after retirement to its fullest. He devoted much of his time and energy regaling his family and friends via frequent emails. He enjoyed traveling, especially his yearly trips to Spain visiting Carmina's family. He quickly became an expert at bottling wine at the family's vineyard. A connoisseur of fine foods and wine Ronny could always be counted on to recommend fabulous eateries and delicious dishes anywhere.
Ronny will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor and contagious laughter.
He is survived by his mother Rosalyn Jones Reynolds of Midland; his son Lee Reynolds of Austin; brother Michael Edward Reynolds of Austin, and his daughter Ashley Whittenburg; sister Cindy Scherer and husband Pete of Midland, and their children Scott, Kimberly, and Brian; sister Marilyn Naylor and husband John of Roswell, New Mexico, and their children Suzann and Mitch.
Ronny was cherished by his life companion, Carmina Eaton, and her children Belinda Jacobs, and Bridgette Kershner. He was affectionately known as "Papa Ron" by Will, Abby, Benjamin, and Thomas, whom he frequently enjoyed spending time with.
He is also survived by countless extended family and friends and his beloved cats, Sancho and Lolita.
