Rosa Maria Martinez

She was born on April 1, 1937, in Austin, Texas. Rosa was raised by her aunts and uncles: the late Paz Martinez, Rosa Martinez, Leocadia Martinez, and Reyes Martinez. After their passing, she lived with the late Regina and Joseph Gonzales, and later with her cousins, Martin and Mary Gonzales. Through each stage of her upbringing, Rosa learned the importance of family bonds, which became the foundation of the love she shared so freely with others.

Rosa was a gentle and kind soul, known to everyone as a sweet and loving presence. She cherished life’s simple joys, especially time spent with family. Rosa’s love for embroidery and the company of friends brought her happiness, and she took special delight in watching her younger family members grow through the years. She was deeply loved by her extended family and leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and compassion.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. A burial will occur Friday, August 22, 2025 at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life.
