Rosa Katherine Miller, age 82 of Austin, TX, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in her home with family.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Ira Joe Miller, two of her sons, Jeffery Miller and Matthew Miller, granddaughter, Melissa Sprouse. Two sisters, Barbara Stark, Donna Miller.
She had a deep love for Jehovah God, family, friends and her pets. She was a kind, graceful, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a homemaker who stayed home and took care of her 5 children. This was a hard exhausting job as two of her sons were disabled and needed extensive care. As you can imagine this was not easy, but she cared for them until they both passed away. We helped as much as we could, but son’s want their mom mostly. She was an amazing mother who always did her best for her family even when her own health started to decline. She then took care of her husband (the love of her life) who became ill until he passed away. Even though her heart was broken from all the losses in her life her strong faith in Jehovah God helped her endure.
She had a fear of water over her face, but because she trusted in Jehovah God, she was able to get baptized on 4/19/86 she was very happy of this accomplishment. Her strong faith in Jehovah is what kept her going all these years through all the heartbreaks and losses as well as the good things she was grateful for and blessed with. She felt great comfort in Jehovah’s promise at Revelation 21:3, 4 that she will see her loved ones again as well as Isaiah 35:5,6 assured her that her sons would be able to walk again soon in a wonderful paradise. She enjoyed reading her bible, going to the meetings and sharing the truth with others about the Kingdom especially with her nurses she would say “I’m just an old lady, not to old to run the race for life”, she also enjoyed the Kingdom melodies especially, Keep your eyes on the prize and God’s Promise of Paradise.
Rosa loved her pictures, playing bingo, dominos and spending time with her family and friends. Words cannot express how much we all loved her and will miss her and her cute little laugh and sweet smile. Sometimes she would just call us and she would sing “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”. or she would say “Thank you for all your help. I love you”.
Rosa is survived by three of her children, Linda Hopkins, Mark Miller, Kathy Wagner, three grandchildren, Joey Sprouse & Wife Angela Sprouse, Lee Wagner, Lacey Wagner. Two sons in law, Norman Hopkins, Cliff Wagner, two great grandchildren, one brother, James Pate. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her.
