

Roselyn Renea Bennett Lyons of Austin, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 12th, 2010 at the age of 41. She spent her final hours surrounded by the ones she loved. She was born on January 30th, 1969 in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Floyd Bennett Sr. and Tom Cline; father, Floyd Bennett Jr.; grandmother Emma J. Cline; aunt Barbara-Jean Campbell. Roselyn is survived by her husband of 18 years, Mark Lyons; her two daughters Hailey and Maya, and her two sons Javan and Levy. Her mother, Dorothy Nell Smith (husband Robert Smith); grandmother, Earline Small; sister Rochelle Fulton (husband John Fulton, children Kyndall and Malcolm); and her brother Cedric Smith (wife Jamie, children Avery, Braxton, and Brice). Uncle Thomas Cline (wife Gwen), aunt Ruth-Ann Burrell, uncle Herbert Cline (wife Debra); along with a large extended family. Roselyn lived an active and full childhood, and participated in many extra-curricular activities, including dance and cheer-leading. At age 17, Roselyn learned the Bible's truth. In 1988, she dedicated her life to Jehovah God, and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She spent much of her adult life teaching and preaching to her neighbors about her Bible based hope of a paradise earth. She served as a Regular Pioneer over 5 years, helping a number of individuals on the road that leads to life. Roselyn married Mark Lyons on December 7th, 1991. After their marriage, she moved to Austin, Texas with him, and started a family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children. She committed herself to home-schooling her children and being a wonderful homemaker. She was extremely creative, and enjoyed freely giving of herself to others. She was an accomplished seamstress, often times making beautiful dresses for herself and her daughters. Roselyn was also well known for her generous hospitality. She prepared delicious meals and desserts that delighted her many guests. Roselyn also had a stylish eye for interior decoration, often to be found painting and rearranging to create rooms that reflected her refreshing personality. Most importantly, she loved and served her God Jehovah. Trusting in his love and care, she courageously and gracefully endured to the end. Roselyn leaves behind a large family, and many friends who both love her and will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Avenue. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6200 Bolm Road. Interment will follow at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
