

Rowe Crocker, 85, went to be with the Lord December 11, 2009. He was born to Amos and Sally Belle Crocker on July 25, 1924 in Kerens, Texas. He joined two older brothers, Lloyd and Johnnie. The family moved to Lampasas, Texas in 1939. Rowe and Lloyd were in the grocery business prior to their military duty - Rowe in the Army, Lloyd in the Navy - from 1943 - 1946. Soon after their service duty, they opened Crocker's Food Mart, which they operated together until it was sold in 1981. Both brothers preceded him in death. October 18, 1948, Rowe married Ruth Helwig, who passed away in 1970. June 7, 1974, Rowe married Eilene Rains Ames. She already had two daughters, Judy & Jill. His marriage to Eilene not only made Rowe a husband, but also an instant father and grandfather! After Rowe sold the grocery store, he worked at People's National Bank in Lampasas, until 1985 when he and Eilene moved to Temple, Texas where Rowe was in the real estate business until he retired in 1997. They moved to Austin in 2003 to be close to Jill. Rowe is survived by his wife, Eileen; daughters, Jill Crocker of Austin, Texas; Judy Thiebaud and husband Rick of Banning, California; Grandson Mike Thiebaud and wife Ashley, and great granddaughter Hannah Eileen of Banning, California. Sister-in-law, Tyda Crocker of Lampasas, Texas. Three nieces, Dana Ferguson & husband Benny of New Braunfels, Texas; Reba Mooney and husband Steve of Lampasas, Texas; and Betty Kay Grace of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Three nephews, Harold Crocker & wife Robbie of Kerrville, Texas, Maurice Crocker & wife Vanna of Kerrville, Texas, and Roger Crocker of Scurry, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Great Hills Baptist Church, 10500 Jollyville Road, Austin, Texas.
