Roxie Anne Reeves Hays

A native of Austin, Texas, Roxie was born to Willie Clemons and Minnie Lee Reeves on May 7, 1948. Roxie graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. She later attended Central Texas Community College and Austin Community College. In 1966, she married Terry Milton Hays. They divorced in 2000.

Roxie worked 28 years for the Texas Department of Health and quickly grew through the ranks of the accounting department. Upon retirement she worked for Tech Crete Contracting and most recently for The Adjutant General’s Office.

Roxie was a proud mother and grandmother, and wanted to be remembered for the love and devotion she had for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, C.L. and Billy Hearn Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Doege and husband Shawn of St. Hedwig, Texas; her son, Terry Hays and wife Brooke of Bastrop, Texas; her grandchildren Sgt. Casey Hays currently stationed in Tennessee. Jonathan and Christopher Risenhoover, and Aaron Hays, all of Bastrop, Texas; her great-grandsons Tristen and Kayden Hays; her brother Jack Reeves and wife Mary of Shawnee, Kansas.

A visitation will be held on Thursday June 6th, 2013 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. with at Cook- Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7th, 2013 at The Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home , North Lamar. Interment will immediately follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
