

Rudy Reyna went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31, 2003. He was born on September 1, 1935 in Uhland, Texas. Rudy was a graduate of Austin High School in 1953. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for ten years and was a member of the National Guard for seven years in both active and inactive duty. After serving his country, he worked for Haufler Motors/Excavation for 28 years, and then in the construction/excavation business for several Austin and Houston based companies for approximately 15 years. He retired in 1988. Rudy enjoyed several hobbies, including freshwater fishing, woodworking, NASCAR auto racing, repairing cars and watching the rodeo. He enjoyed auto racing so much that he was part of a pit crew at Austin Speed-O-Rama in the 1960s. Rudy is preceded in death by his father, Salvador Reyna, Sr.; his mother, Consuelo Reyna; and sister, Esther Cermeno. Survivors include Lucy Reyna, his wife and friend of 35 years, and their devoted daughters Kimberlee Reyna-Pastrano and husband Rudy, and Kellie Reyna and husband John Rogers. He is also survived by daughters, Esther Molina and husband Jaime, and Christine Abreo and husband Johnny. Other survivors include his sister, Lucy Guerrero and husband Greg; brother, Salvador Reyna, Jr. and wife Rosa. Rudy had three beautiful grandchildren, Mikayla Karaline Pastrano and Phillip and Brianna Abreo. Rudy was loved by all, including many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at St. Davids Medical Center for the wonderful care throughout the years, especially Dr. Kelly Tjelmeland and Dr. Robert Mingea for their compassionate care. A loving thank you to Luisa Carbajal for the kindhearted care and support given to our father over the past few years. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 3 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 4 at San Jose Catholic Church, with Father Juan Carlos Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Paul Phillip Reyna, James Alba, Jaime Molina, Rudy Pastrano, John Rogers, and Ronny Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Abreo, Phillip Abreo, and Larry Flores.
