Rufina U. Bargas: After a long and fruitful life of 94 years, our mother, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Bargas; and son, Edward H. Bargas. She is survived by her daughters, Angelina Trevino, Ernestine Gonzalez and husband Martin, Mary Ann Salazar and husband Robert; grandchildren, Rebecca Ruth Lopez, Martin Gonzalez IV, Sylvia Delfina Trevino, Christine Elena Reyna, and Veronica Gamboa; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Adriana, Anabella Lopez, Andrew James, Jacob Austin Gonzalez, Contessa Marie Galan, Marissa Vargas, Julian David Reyna, True Gamboa. She lived an active life as a restaurateur and owner of Tamales by Bargas on South 1st Street. She loved to cook for family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted to her family. Rufina will be greatly missed by all. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, January 18, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
