Russell G. "Sam" Wiles

Russell was born in Joliet, Illinois on May 27, 1940. He attended Joliet Central High School and Joliet Jr. College. He served proudly in the U.S. Armed Forces.

In 1962 Russell began a 33 year career with General Motors, where he was a supervisor at the Electro Motive Division in La Grange, Illinois. After retirement from GM Russell worked and volunteered for the LakeTravis Independent School District.

Russell was married to Patricia Ann (Bonser) Wiles on November 27, 1964. They recently celebrated over 50 years of love and dedication together with family and friends.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bonser Wiles; his daughter, Shawn Wiles Toler (Jeffrey G. Toler) and granddaughter; Chelsea Toler-Hoffmann (Daniel Hoffmann).

Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Wiles and Dorothy (Butterbach) Wiles; sister, Rachel Webber and brother, Cleggett (Bud) Wiles.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Austin and the Bee Creek United Methodist Church communities for their loving care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Bee Creek United Methodist Church in Spicewood, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 P.M., at Bee Creek United Methodist Church in Spicewood, Texas with Reverend Laura Heikes officiating.

The family will receive visitors, immediately following the Memorial Service for a reception to continue the celebration of Russell's life.
