"Rusty" Ruth Elizabeth (Poynor) Cribbs went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 21, 2025. Ruth was born in Paris, Texas on November 22, 1937 and lived in Dallas until her marriage to Hugh Poynor after graduating from The University of North Texas. She is survived by their son, Dan McMorries Poynor of Austin, Texas.
Ruth later married William Randolph Cribbs and enjoyed real estate development in Winter Haven, Florida until his death. She taught Special Education, Early Childhood Education and elementary grades for AISD until her retirement in 2000.
A memorial service at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mills Road will be held August 1, 2025 with visitation starting at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park at 1:00pm.
