

Sam M. Saxon Sam M. Saxon, age 96, passed away at Hilltop Village Care Center in Kerrville on Monday, July 26, 2004. Sam was born in Washington D.C. on January 23, 1908 and lived in Austin since 1920. He attended the University of Texas, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a member of several Masonic organizations including Austin Lodge #12, and was a member of the Austin Scottish Rite and the Ben Hur Shrine Temple. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carrie Louise Saxon and a son, Thomas R. Saxon. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Jobes and husband Bill of Ft. Worth; sons, William R. Saxon and wife Betty of Houston and Sam M. Saxon, Jr. and wife Avis of Kerrville; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Saxon of Plano; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev.
