

Samuel C. Elliott passed away on November 9, 2004. He was 83 years old and resided in Austin, Texas. He was born in 1921 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. His parents were Samuel L. Elliott and Agnes Frantz Elliott. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant in World War II, joined the National Guard upon returning to the US at the end of the war, and returned to the armed forces for service as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He was proud to have served in both wars. Both he and his father were deployed at the same time overseas during World War II. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and worked in Aerospace Engineering for many years. He worked on the design of the UNIVAC computer at Burroughs Corporation in Pennsylvania, on the space program at General Electric Corporation in Pennsylvania, and finally, retired from Motorola Corporation in Arizona. Upon retirement, he volunteered to tutor high school students in math. Sam loved to dance and listen to jazz from his vast collection of CDs. He also enjoyed gardening and was quite a gourmet cook. In more recent years, he enjoyed trips to California to visit with his triplet granddaughters, now 6 years old. He is survived by his daughters, Gail Gangloff of York, Pennsylvania, Margaret Danner of Long Beach, California, and Barbara Williams of Bloomfield, New Jersey. He has five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
