He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ellison; sister, Emily Haire; sister, Sherri Pickett and her husband, David Pickett; sisters-in-law, Patsy Ayres and Patsy Bernhardt; brother, Pat Ayres; brother-in-law, Don Latta; nieces, Mary Denise Haire, Lori Ayres, Kimberly Ayres, Amy Ayres, Carla Ayres, Ann Marie Ayres and Tonia Moore; nephews, Nicholas Haire, Samuel Haire, Preston Patten, Joe Pat Ayres, Chris Ayres, Elias Jurado, Ray Jurado and Drake Michael Jurado; David Blakely and many other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Nicole Ellison; Parents, Mary Alice and Samuel Lanham Ellison; Mother and Father-in-law, Adell Dorsett Bernhardt and Clarence Alvin Bernhardt; brother, Jerry Ayres; sisters-in-law, Wanda Jeanne Bernhardt and Linda Latta; nieces and nephews, Leslie Ayres, Jerry Eugene Ayres, Jr., Laurie Jurado and Elias Sammy Jurado.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the Texas Oncology staff and the St. David’s Cancer Care Clinic staff for the loving care and support they provided.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.
Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
Due to caring concerns for the attendees, we are requesting masks be worn for the visitation and
funeral service.
