

Sandra Turnini Ybarra Worth, 77, passed away on June 21, 2026, in Austin, Texas. She was born September 27, 1948, in San Marcos, Texas, the eldest child of the late Andres and Vilma Turnini Ybarra. Sandra lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, family, and community.
Sandra graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where she met her husband, Paul William Worth. Sandra and Paul were married 41 years, until his death in 2011.
Following graduation from UT, she was awarded a Women in Science grant through the National Science Foundation and completed postgraduate training in the still-emerging field of computer science before embarking on a career as a systems analyst and software developer. Her work spanned decades of innovation before she retired in 2015.
A woman of deep faith, Sandra was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Austin for nearly 40 years. She found joy in serving others, and was a generous and loyal friend. Known for her moxie, sharp intellect, and seemingly boundless energy, Sandra left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husband Paul, she was preceded in death by her sisters Lydia Ybarra and Virginia Ybarra; and granddaughter Mary Devon Foster.
Sandra is survived by her children Alison Worth Lowry (Benjamin) and William Reid Worth (Stephanie); grandchildren Emma, Helen, and Olivia; brothers Frank Ybarra and Andres “Andy” Ybarra, Jr.; and her sister Juanita Gotts.
Sandra’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unwavering faith. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A Rosary will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd, Austin, Texas 78749, on July 8, 2026, at 9:30 am, followed by her funeral mass at 10:00. Committal Service at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, Texas 78731, will follow 11:30 am.
