

Santos (Santitos) Ybanez Martinez, age 88, of Austin, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Santitos was born September 7, 1925 to Filiberto and Santos Ybanez in Hebbronville, Texas. Before her marriage and becoming a housewife, Santitos worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell during World War II. Santitos was blessed with a loving husband of over 50 years who preceded her in death, Ramiro J. Martinez. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Araceli M. Cartledge, and Baby Martinez; by her brothers, Filiberto and Juanita Ybanez, Jr; sisters, Maria and Agustine Ramirez, Antonia Ybanez, Lilia and Winiberto Garcia, Hortencia and Fernando Ramirez.
Santitos is survived by daughters, Ana and husband Michael Jackoskie, Patricia and husband William "Bill" Hoagland all of Austin and Ramiro J. Martinez, Jr. and wife Carol of San Marcos. Also survived by grandchildren, Sally and Joe Sifuentez, Susan Hoagland, William "Billy" Hoagland, Jr., Joseph Jackoskie all of Austin, Trevor Martinez of Taylor; great-grandchildren, Joey and Anya Sifuentez, Aleyssa, Maritza and Henry Jackoskie. She is also survived by two sisters, Aida (+Alvaro) Ramos of Austin and Olga (+Fernando) Ramirez of San Antonio and sister-in-law, Crisanta (+Homero) Ybanez of Corpus Christi as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Revered Hector Vega, ISP. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Jackoskie, William Hoagland, Joseph Jackoskie, William "Billy" Hoagland, Joe Sifuentez, Oscar Ramirez and Scott Ramos. Honorary pallbearer is Trevor Martinez.
The family would like to thank the staff of Seton Medical Center IMC Unit for their outstanding care and compassion during her brief illness.
Santitos will be remembered for the love and compassion that she not only showed herself but also brought out in others.
