Our beloved Sara R. Ojeda, age 79, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday September 29, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of many years, Amador Rodriguez Ojeda Sr.; her parents, Elojio and Lydia Ruiz; her siblings, Mary Rodriguez, Pioquinto Ruiz, Alex Ruiz, Narcisa Flores, Janie Castillo, Frank Ruiz; her sister-in-law, Gloria Ruiz; her son-in-law, Angel F. Renteria.
Sara is survived by her loving children Amador R. Ojeda Jr., Peggy (Miguel) Mendez, Cheryl O. (Angel) Renteria, Felix (Stephanie) Ojeda; her brother Pete (Gloria) Ruiz; her grandchildren Amanda Rios, Miguel Adrian Mendez, Sarah Ojeda, Andrea Mendez, Andres Mendez, Allison Ojeda, Amador Renteria, Angelo Renteria, Hannah Ojeda, Angel Ojeda, Felix Ojeda; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Sara grew up in Garfield, Texas where she met the love of her life. As they started to grow their family they moved to Austin, Texas and resided in the Montopolis area for over 60 years. She worked at University of Texas for over 25 years. When she retired she enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren creating unforgettable memories. Sara enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, traveling, watching the UT football games, and hosting every birthday and holiday party at her house.
We would like to thank Central Texas Kidney Associates (Dr. Lu’s office), the staff and nurses of Hospice Austin, and Capital Medical Clinic (Dr. Sarah Daniels and staff).
Honored Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Miguel Adrian Mendez, Andres Mendez, Amador Renteria, Angelo Renteria, Jonathan Rios, Jordan Rios, Christian Mendez and honorary Pallbearer Felix Ojeda.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 10 with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes, 2620 South Congress Ave., Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia’s Catholic Church located at 1030 Lyons Rd, Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
