Sarah Sasaki was born January 27, 1982 in Austin and passed away on September 10, 2014 in Austin. She leaves behind her mother, father, two older brothers, two older sisters, soulmate and many friends who cherish her memory.
Sarah graduated from high school at the American School in Tokyo, Japan. In 2005 she graduated Magna cum Laude with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. She received her Master's in Accounting from Texas State University, San Marcos, in 2011, and then passed the CPA exam in January 2014.
She grew up in Austin, but also lived in San Francisco, Tokyo, Bangladesh, Albany, NY, San Antonio, and recently moved back to Austin. She enjoyed traveling, and took trips to Montreal, Barcelona, and Paris.
Sarah was adventurous, and was never afraid to try new things. She recently made segedinsky goulash with steamed dumplings, and it turned out pretty good for someone who until then barely boiled an egg.
Sarah had a pure heart and an infectious, radiant smile. She was completely unselfish, had the patience of a saint, and wanted everyone else to be happy. She made everyone feel special and cared for.
A romantic at heart, she refused to settle for less than true love. She believed in fate and destiny, and that nothing was happenstance.
We all miss the light Sarah has brought to our lives, yet find comfort knowing that in recent months she glowed with happiness from being in love.
The family will receive friends and a reception will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd.
