Scott Hamilton McCulloch, age 39, of Austin, Texas passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021. Scott was born December 27, 1981.

Our Lord took our Scott in His loving arms on Memorial Day this year. His sweet soul will be missed here on earth. Scott Hamilton McCulloch was a precious son, brother, uncle and friend with deep emotional wounds from serving our country in the Iraq War as a combat medic. Scott was preceded in death by his uncle William "Billy" Hamilton, his fraternal grandparents Willie Ersell McCulloch Sr and Helen Chenault McCulloch; maternal grandparents Oscar A. Hamilton Jr. M.D. and Eutha Winfrey Hamilton. Scott is survived by his mother Mary, his brother Trey, his uncle David (Vicki), his aunt Marilyn, aunt Barbara (Pete), aunt Sally (Mike); and numerous cousins and two nieces, one nephew and one grandniece. Scott's father Willie E McCulloch Jr. passed away recently after suffering from Alzheimer's.

Scott lived in Austin most of his life but still missed the quiet woods of his early childhood in Dripping Springs. He entered the US Army in April of 2003 to fight the Global War on Terrorism serving honorably in Iraq for three tours of duty. He saw many atrocities there including the 2004 army mess hall bombing in Mosul, Iraq. Scott was admired by his fellow soldiers as being a brave, reliable medic and cared deeply for the Iraqi people trying to stabilize their divided country. His heart was always on his sleeve. He separated from the army in August of 2014. In recent years, Scott was living with his parents and helped his mother care for his dad who was in the last stage of Alzheimer's. Scott was a valuable employee for Amazon working for LMTX "Last Mile" delivery service caring for his customers and would interact with his friendly customers and friendly dogs. Scott's Pembroke Welsh Corgi misses him terribly. "Roxie" was his therapy dog who absolutely loved being adored.

Military services for Scott's ashes will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in the fall of 2021.

Donations may be made in honor of Scott McCulloch to Camp Hope in Houston, or any organization that could help veterans with PTSD.

Scotty was my medic in 07/08 while we were in Iraq. I introduced him to my cousin and they married for 6 years.
He was my brother and cousin.
I wish everything would’ve been better.

I love you Scotty, you’ll be reminded always.

Scott , you were so nice to me when I first met you. I always wanted to have a convo with you anytime I saw you. One of the most positive and caring people i knew. My heart goes out to you and your family. An amazing man and hard worker was taken away from us too soon. We all miss you over here at LMTX. Rest In Peace brother. Thank you for reminding me that there are people out there that care and look out for you. I love you.
