Born in Hallock, Minnesota, on December 15, 1948, Shelley Marie Johnson Berdoll moved with her family in the early 1950’s to Austin, Texas, where she lived for most of her life and where she passed away on December 2, 2019. A childhood friend remembers catching lightning bugs with Shelley on warm summer nights, playing Canasta for endless hours, riding bicycles all over the neighborhood, fishing for perch on the Colorado River, playing countless pretend games, and talking on the phone for hours during the teen years. Shelley had an engaging laugh; loved to reminisce about old times and was an avid reader of historical fiction. She graduated from Travis High School in 1967 and worked in various clerical positions in her adult life. Shelley was very close to her mother and talked fondly of her long-deceased father. She is survived by her dear mother, Imogene Johnson; her son Lance and his family, including two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and siblings Kent, Steven and Debbie and their families, including fifteen nieces and nephews. Shelley struggled in this life and as a beloved child of God, is now at peace.
