Sherri Suzanne Ray

Sherri Suzanne Ray, age 45, of Pflugerville, Texas, died April 13 2009 in Austin, Texas. Sherri was born on June 1, 1963 in Kokomo, Indiana. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1981. Sherri worked sixteen years in Amarillo and the past ten years in Austin, completing her 26th year with the Texas Work Force. She played soccer in Amarillo and was a great supporter of her son's soccer team. Sherri was an enthusiastic sports fan and she loved the University of Texas football and basketball teams and she never missed a Dallas Cowboy game. Sherri is survived by her son, Justin Ray of Austin; parents, Dedi Starkey of Amarillo, Ralph Drake and stepmother, Janet of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Pam Lusk of Amarillo; brothers, Steve Drake and Vi of Farmington, New Mexico, Brian Drake of Stephenville, Tony Drake and Tamara of Ovilla; aunts and uncles of Indiana, Marlene Deason, Kevin and Connie Deason, Philip Drake, Kerry Drake, Becky Martin and Bob and Ruth Russell of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation and celebration of Sherri's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin. Funeral services and burial will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Amarillo, Texas.
