Shirley was born on April 24th, 1935 in Austin, Texas as the middle child to her loving parents, Chester and Minnie Daniel.
She was a loving mother to her two children, Danny Rundberg and Teresa Ceder and she was adored by her 5 grandchildren (Christopher, Chelsea, Keith, Anthony & Carl) and 10 great- grandchildren (Emma, Kailei, Madi, Slade, Sienna, Graham, Corrie, Hudson, Lucy and Benjamin).
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately referred to her as "Nana." She will be remembered by all of them for her warmth, sensational cooking, loving support, laughter and overall kindness.
Shirley Jo was successful in business, she was fond of her dogs, she loved traveling and she loved spending time with her friends and family.
One of the highlights of her life was her time spent as a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in San Antonio, Texas. In the mid 1990's she had a life-changing encounter with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She went on a sacred trip to Israel with her best friend Dottie and was baptized in the Jordan River by her beloved pastor, John Hagee. She would talk about that trip for many, many years.
In the end she was ready to step into eternity and died a woman of sturdy of faith with her loving family surrounding her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Minnie Daniel and by her brothers Sonny and Ray Daniel. She is survived by her son Danny Rundberg and daughter Teresa Ceder. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Shirley Jo's life will be celebrated Tuesday, March 9th at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m.
The interment will follow at Austin Memorial Cemetery.
