Sidney is survived by wife of 49 years Phyllis Elliott, daughter Lynda Conkle, of Austin and son Kemp Elliott of Johnson City; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren
Gene was a true Austinite born at old Brackridge Hospital. He worked with his dad at Elliott’s Radiator Shop. He went on to work for the State of Texas as a security guard. When Phyllis dragged him to Arkansas with her job he found his real calling with Arkansas Children Hospital. There he protected the children! Since Phyllis traveled he would stay on to rock the babies and read to children. He accompanied them to the Easter Egg roll at Arkansas Governor’s Mansion.
After retiring he took many cruises across to Europe and Alaska as well as friends trip across America.
We celebrate his long life and appreciate Hospice Austin for their care for the past several months.
