Maria del “Socorro” Galvan, born to Luis and Maria del Refugio “Cuca” Sanchez May 21st, 1939, in Harlingen, Texas, returned to our loving Father April 27th, 2025. Socorro passed on in her family’s home early Sunday morning in Austin, Texas, where she moved with her late, loving spouse, Roberto “Bobby” Galvan, to help raise and spend time with their three loving grandchildren.
She departs from her daughter, Melissa Martinez, her three grandchildren, John Michael Martinez, Justin Matthew Martinez, and Anissa Miabella Martinez, as well as Joanna Montoya who came to be like a daughter to her, and Troy “Mateo” Montoya who was like a grandson to her. She returns to her parents, husband, and son, Paul Galvan, who passed in his infancy.
She enjoyed watching football and supporting her team, the Kansas City Chiefs as well as tending to her garden. She had an affinity for tomatoes, tamales, and limón and gameshows like The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved The Little House on the Prairie and taking walks to visit and chat with her neighbors. She was a caretaker to many and always gave generously to others without a second thought. She will be missed dearly.
